Mohali Court denies Bail to Akali Leader Bikram Singh Majithia in Drugs Case

Mohali Court dismissed the Anticipatory Bail Application filed by Shiromani Akali Dal Leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Accused in a Drugs Case.

Bikram Singh Majithia was charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), 1985, in connection to a 2018 Status Report of an Investigation into a Drug Racket operating in Punjab.

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed under sections 25, 27a and 29 of the NDPS Act.

Further it was highlighted that Bikram Singh Majithia embezzled Government Vehicles, Security and Official Machinery to promote the smuggling of Synthetic Drugs.

Furthermore, Bikram Singh Majithia moved to the Court for Anticipatory Bail. However, the Mohali Court dismissed Bikram Singh Majithia’s Bail Plea.

Meanwhile, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has held the Punjab Government of trying to charge party President Sukhbir Singh Badal and Former Minister Bikram Singh Majithia in a fictions Drugs Case.

SAD Senior Vice-President Daljit Singh Cheema noted that the Punjab Congress had colluded to file a false Drugs Case against former minister Bikram Singh Majithia by recording a forged Complaint against him under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
