Madras High Court rejects Anticipatory Bail of Rajenthra Bhalaji

The Madras High Court declined the application for Anticipatory Bail of Former Milk and Dairy Development Minister K T Rajenthra Bhalaji in relation with the Cases registered against him for Cheating Government Job applicants to the tune of INR 3 Crores.

Justice M Nirmal of the Madras High Court dismissed two applications filed by, the former Milk and Dairy Development Minister K T Rajenthra Bhalaji, for an Anticipatory Bail.

The Madras High Court on November 19th, 2021 had granted an interim relief to the former member of the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and orally directed the Tamil Nadu Police to not Arrest the Accused until further Orders from the Court.

According to the Prosecution, a Petition was lodged against K T Rajenthra Bhalaji at the Inspector General’s Office in south zone, for Allegedly cheating a 49-year-old man of INR 30 Lakhs on the condition of getting the relative of the Victim a job as a manager at Aavin.

The Petitioner S. Ravindran of Sattur in Virudhnagar district, had approached the former Milk and Dairy Minister’s personal assistant K Vijaya Nalathambi for a job for his relative.

The Petitioner stated that even though the Minister was not in direct contact with him, he was aware of the developments of the Case.

The deal between the two- Rajenthra Bhalaji and S. Ravindran was that the former would help the latter’s relative get a job in Aavin, a milk-cooperative owned by the State Government.

The Petitioner in this regard had paid the Minister INR 30 Lakhs and his personal assistant INR 3.8 Lakh.

The Accused denies all the Accusations against him and Alleged that he is being pulled into the Case due to political rivalries.
