The Delhi High Court sought action plan from the Centre, the state government and the police to trace the lineage of three Bangladeshi youth who claim to have been abducted and brought to India.
The plea requests their safe repatriation along with protection from arrest for unavailability passport and visa and should be provided with food and shelter until necessary arrangements are made for their return.
Justice M Pratibha issued notice to the ministries of home affairs and external affairs, Delhi Government, Border Security Force, the Bangladesh High Commission and the police seeking their stand.
The Court also directed for the Foreigners Regional Registration Office to be made party in the plea by the Bangladeshi youths, which includes a minor.
The Court has directed the parties to submit their status reports by the first week of May.
The petitioners, through advocates Kamlesh Kumar Mishra, Ritu Maity and Abhishek Anand, submitted that they were visiting the Indo-Bangladesh Border with an acquaintance.
On reaching close to the border, they were offered some food from their acquaintance, consumption of which made them lose their consciousness and on regaining their consciousness, they found themselves on a platform of the New Delhi Railway Station.
Subsequently, they went to the Kamla Nagar Police Station where they narrated their anecdote. The policemen gave them some money for food and later shifted them to a homeless night shelter.
The plea also stated that they made their representations to the Bangladesh High Commission and Indian governmental agencies by the help of an activist Sunil Kumar Aldeia but received no response.
