The Kerala HC on Tuesday was hearing the plea of Olympian Mayookha Johny for quashing the FIR registered against her. The FIR was apparently lodged against her for allegedly raising false rape allegations against C.C. Johnson who serves at the Emperor Emmanuel Church.
Advocate PA Ayub Khan representing the athlete told the Court that his client was an athlete, as well as an Olympian, and all the charges against her were false. To this Justice K Haripal remarked, “How is that related to the case? That doesn’t change anything. Let the Police investigate into the allegations.”
In her plea, she also stated that since the prime accused in the case was granted the relief then she should too and that the case was filed to pressurize her to step back from supporting her friend who was raped and whose nude photos were also used to blackmail her.
Earlier, she had also leveled allegations against the police that after promising action they became inactive due to the intervention of influential people in favor of the accused.
