The family members of Hathras gang rape and murder victim have decided to refrain from marking their presence during the court proceedings.

The counsel for the victim’s family Seema Kushwaha notified, “Family members of the victim and I have decided to not attend court proceedings on Wednesday due to security concerns. On my behalf, an application will be submitted in the court informing it about the decision”.

Kushwaha travels from Delhi to Hathras to attend the court proceedings. Previously, a group of people had allegedly threatened the victim’s family and their advocate in the courtroom itself. After being notified of such an alleged incident, the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court had ordered the Hathras District Judge to submit a report.

During another hearing, the CBI too submitted an application seeking transfer of case from Hathras to any other court in the State.
On the CBI’s application, Kushwaha had remarked, “Now, the High Court will decide what to do in the next hearing”.
