Delhi Court granted the Delhi Police time to file its reply regarding the anticipatory bail plea moved by Nikita Jacobs who was charged under the ‘toolkit’ case by Delhi Police.

Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana had earlier given bail to co-accused Disha Ravi last week.

Additional Public Prosecutor Irfan Ahmed suggested the date on which co-accused Shantanu Muluk’s case was listed for hearing.

However, Senior Advocate Rebecca John appearing for the accused urged for Jacob’s case to be taken separately.

I don’t want all these matters on the same date. It will create an overlap.”

However, Judge Rana proceeded to list the matter on March 9th with Shantanu Muluk’s bail hearing anyway.

Jacobs and Muluk had been given a transit bail by the Bombay High Court after Jacobs was issued with a non-bailable warrant regarding her involvement in the “toolkit” case.

The toolkit case refers to an article that was shared worldwide by Greta Thunberg, a climate activist, which was allegedly edited by the three and according to the Delhi Police is seditious.

The three, Jacobs, Muluk, and Ravi have been charged under sedition. If convicted, there is a high chance of them getting a maximum jail term of life.
