The Delhi High Court has quashed the national carrier Air India’s decision of terminating services of pilots including contractual ones from the company in August 2020.

The Court by a Bench of Justice Jyoti Singh ordered the reinstatement of such pilots and the back wages to be paid accordingly.

It was also further stated that Air India would have the discretion in the extension of contracts of contractual pilots in the future based on their satisfactory performance.

The order was passed in response to around 40 petitions filed by pilots whose services were terminated by Air India on August 13, 2020.
