On 20th May, 2021 the Delhi High Court asked the Oxygen Cylinder refillers to attend a virtual meeting on May 24th with respect to the accusation of non-compliance in providing data related to oxygen supply on the concerned portal.

The summon was issued after the Amicus Rajshekhar Rao submitted that despite of court’s order to the refillers to provide data on portal related the concerned people have failed to do so leading to non-compliance.

The Division Bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Jasmeet Singh came up with the summon, noting that though the situation has eased than it was, however, “There could be no reason for refillers not to put the system in place and make it operational by giving regular updates of the information”

Appearing for the Delhi Government, Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra apprised the court that, most of the refillers are not complying with the court and the state government’s orders and in the absence of any coercive step taken against them, the trend will continue.

Answering the apprehension of Mehra, Court reflected that it did not take any step till now because it understands the situation with dearth of oxygen, and even refillers were under extreme pressure to cope up with the needs in the crisis.
