The Delhi High Court has stayed the Delhi Government’s order of delisting Tata Nexon EV from its EV Policy and the subsidies. The Bench further granted some time to the Delhi Government to file a counter affidavit in this matter after due investigation.
Following some complaints from Nexon EV customers alleging the low-grade driving range of the vehicle, the Delhi Government decided to remove the company from the subsidies offered through the Delhi EV Policy 2020. A tweet by Delhi’s Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, confirmed about the same.
However, it was contended that the Government had made no investigation into the matter and had directly reached a conclusion to exclude the company from the subsidies. The Company, Tata Motors, approached the Delhi High Court and consequently, the Court had directed the Government to carry out a proper investigation.
As per certification, the Company has the potential to deliver 312 km of driving range on a single battery charge. However, the complaints made by some customers claimed that the range has not crossed beyond 200 km.
