Delhi Bar Council suspends Advocate license for submitting fake COVID-19 Report

The Bar Council of Delhi has reportedly suspended the license of an Advocate temporarily, for submitting a fake COVID-19 report for getting financial help.

The Council observed this act of the Advocate amounts to misconduct, cheating and forgery.

Referring to the laboratory confirmation that they haven’t issued such COVID-19 report, stating it fake was used as a piece of evidence against the Advocate which thereafter, led to the suspension of the Advocate’s license.

“Your COVID-19 positive report was referred for verification to the concerned Lab and it has been confirmed by the said Lab that no such report has been issued by them in your name,” it Council said.

The Delhi Bar Council then ordered for a composition of a three-member Special Disciplinary Committee, to “Immediately investigate the issue to save the dignity and credibility of the institution.”

Earlier, the Bar Council of Delhi had suspended the license temporarily of Advocate Iqbal Malik for conducting conversion of religion and Nikaah marriages in his chamber.
