Comedian Munawar Faruqui’s bail application hearing adjourned until next week by Madhya Pradesh High Court. The meeting was adjourned as the police failed to produce his case diary.

Faruqui’s counsel Advocate Anushman Shrivastav claimed it is a tactic done by the police to harass him and tried to argue before the court that the police should be ordered to bring the recorded diary within the second half itself as the Tukoganj police station was just in front of the High Court.

His bail pleas have not only been rejected, but Chief Magistrate Aman Singh Bhuria has also extended his judicial custody till January 27th.

Faruqui was handed over to the police by Eklavya Singh Gaur, a Hindu activist and a chief of RSS after Gaur had watched the show claiming they heard indecent comments submitting video footage of the show where they claimed the comedian mocked deities by passing indecent comments.

It was also alleged that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Godhra incident were mentioned inappropriately.

In another report, it was alleged that there was no video proof of the statements causing the whole incident and that the statements were overheard by Gaur and his friends when Faruqui was rehearsing for his show.

Faruqui’s hearing has now been adjourned till next week.
