CJI N. V. Ramana’s fake Twitter account suspended

On the 26th of April 2021, sources in the Supreme Court registry told the ANI news reporters that Twitter India suspended the microblogging account of a user who allegedly impersonated the 48th Chief Justice of India (CJI) N. V. Ramana. After the twitter account in the name of the CJI had surfaced, the Supreme Court Registry immediately filed a Police report.

The source (Supreme Court Registry) said that, “the Supreme Court immediately complained to the Delhi Police and asked it to take action against the alleged user, who opened the account with the name of CJI N. V. Ramana and also with the designation of the CJI in the same profile”.

The sources further added that, “Twitter India, after taking into the record, acted against the said used and suspended the account during the day”.
