Bombay High Court will be hearing businessman Raj Kundra’s plea opposing police custody and seeking bail concerning a pornography racket.

Kundra’s name surfaced after the property cell probing the case identified the involvement of a UK production company, Kenrin, and police arrested its executive, Umesh Kamat.

The former employee of Kundra was accused of uploading at least eight “pornographic and obscene” videos shot by Vasisth on a social media app for monetary consideration.

The police requested remand based on the suspicion that Kundra may have used the money earned in the pornography racket for online betting and therefore, they needed to interrogate him with regards to the financial transaction between him and two banks.

An official of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said that the agency has discovered four emails alleging that Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra bribed Mumbai Police officials with ₹25 lakh to evade arrest.

Raj Kundra was detained by the Police on July 19 with 11 other people on grounds related to the alleged creation of pornographic films.

Ad Interim, Crime Branch has appointed a financial auditor to investigate the money trail of the businessman and Shilpa Shetty on their alleged connivance in the pornography racket case.
