Prosecutors in Pennsylvania on Monday pleaded before the U.S. Supreme Court to review a Lower Court’s statement by a District Attorney that overturned the Sexual Assault Conviction of Bill Cosby.

The District Attorney’s Office in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, submitted a Petition for the High Court to determine whether the agreement by then-prosecutor Bruce Castor had pledged not to file Criminal Charges against Cosby if the comedian would swear in a Civil Lawsuit, should be treated as Grant of immunity’.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele stated “The Petition is the right thing to do because of the precedent set in this case by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.”

Bill Cosby, 84, was in Prison for about three years after being convicted in 2018 of Drugging and Sexually Assaulting a Temple University staff member approximately a Decade earlier.

Previously the Pennsylvania Supreme Court had observed in June that a ‘Non-prosecution Agreement’ with a prior prosecutor should have debarred him from being criminally charged in the case.

Further Bill Cosby was released from Jail on June 30.

Furthermore, Steele noted that “This decision as it stands will have far-reaching negative consequences beyond Montgomery County and Pennsylvania. The U.S. Supreme Court can right what we believe is a grievous wrong.”
