A Bengaluru Court restrained Samsung India from using the registered trademark ‘Concierge’ and issued an interim order in this regard.
“Issue ex-parte ad-interim injunction against Samsung restraining them, their agents, servants or any persons claiming through or under them in any manner whatsoever, whether directly or indirectly, from illegally using the mark ‘CONCIERGE’ belonging to Lesconcierges, till next date of hearing,” read the ex-parte order by the City Civil Court at Bengaluru.
The Court noted that “Though there is a prima facie case against the defendants for it to pass an ex-parte injunction order, the defendants ought to be heard before the same.”

The order came preceding the case filed by Dipali Sikand, founder of Lesconcierges Services Pvt. Ltd. And Club Concierge Services (India) Pvt. Ltd. when they sued Samsung India for infringement over the trademark ‘Concierge’ which is duly registered and owned by Sikand.
Sikand claimed that Samsung India misused the Concierge trademark in various brochures, publicity material and advertisements in a President’s club which is a loyalty program for dealers and distributors of Samsung.
The plaintiff claimed that Samsung India is misusing the goodwill and reputation of their self-established spectrum in the market.
The Court adjourned the matter to be further heard on August 5.
