Bar Associations of Delhi issued a Press Release and extended its support to farmers protest. Bar Council to stage a protest against farm laws in all Delhi Court complexes on 8th December.
BCD extending support to farmers said in the press release that “The Legal fraternity fully supports the demand of the farmers and urges upon the Government of India to consider the genuine demands of the farmers community”
Bar Council of Delhi describe the farm laws as “arbitrary” and “unjust”, the associations contended that they were aimed at providing benefit to big trading companies.
Bar Council of Delhi and its Coordination Committee extended support to the Bharat Bandh. Calling upon the Centre to consider the genuine demands of the farmers, the lawyers’ bodies lamented that government had not consulted the farmers and representatives of the Bar before tabling the agrarian bills.
