Baba Ramdev moves SC seeking stay in FIRs filed against him & wants cases transferred to Delhi

Yoga Guru, Baba Ramdev approached the Supreme Court in relation to all the FIRs filed against him, over his offensive remarks on allopathy, to be transferred to Delhi.

Ramdev Baba is alleged for making offensive comments over the medicines used by medical practitioners in the treatment of Covid-19. Accordingly, he has been charged under Section 188, 269 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

While Baba Ramdev called modern medicine to be “Stupid Science”, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) demanded strict action to be taken against him by the Central government and filed a defamation suit of Rs. 10 crores against him.

In furtherance of IMA, Safdarjung Hospital, and the Resident Doctors’ Associations of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) also demanded strict action to be taken against him.

After the conflict between IMA and Baba Ramdev, Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust issued a public notification thereby claiming that Baba Ramdev has utmost regards for the medical practitioners who are working day and night and in no way criticizes their treatment.
