Allahabad High Court criticized a lawyer for his ‘discourteous manner’ in the virtual hearing of a case.

After being discussed the rules for attending virtual hearings, there was yet another case where the lawyer was attending the virtual hearing accompanied by another person who was visible on the screen, bare body and without a shirt.

A single bench of Justice Jaspreet Singh said that the lawyer must appear in the virtual court proceedings in a peaceful surrounding where no such person inappropriately dress could appear.

“This conduct and manner with which the learned counsel have treated the virtual hearing so casually is not only appalling but is discourteous and shocking. Such behaviour and mannerism cannot be tolerated,” noted the Court.

Criticizing the lawyer for his conduct, alerted him to maintain the decorum of the Court and to take care of his surroundings while attending any virtual hearings in future.

The Court stated that the counsel was immediately asked to disconnect, but he didn’t disconnect, afterwards, he accepted his mistakes, expressed regret and apologized to the Court.

In a piece of recent news, again the High Court of Allahabad criticized the act of a lawyer and called his act ‘unacceptable’ as he was trying to dress himself up while the Court was dictating the order in a bail application.
