The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the regulatory body for technical education in India, has cautioned students about the proliferation of fake 10-day MBA crash courses. This advisory follows the promotion of a purported 10-day MBA program by a motivational speaker, prompting the AICTE to address the misleading trend.

Abhay Jere, Vice-Chairman of AICTE, stated that an advisory has been issued to counter these ‘fake MBA’ programs specifically targeting the youth. The AICTE emphasized the importance of AICTE recognition for running an MBA program in the country, as affirmed by the Union Education Ministry.

The notice, issued in response to the rise in advertisements for such courses, underscores that these crash courses are an attempt to misguide the youth.

AICTE stressed that, according to a Supreme Court judgment, no institution or university can conduct technical courses, including MBA or management programs leading to postgraduate degrees, without obtaining approval from AICTE.

The AICTE clarified that an authentic MBA program is a two-year postgraduate degree course designed to provide individuals with advanced skills and knowledge across various aspects of business and management. It debunked the legitimacy of completing an MBA program in just 10 days, labeling such crash courses as misleading and inappropriate.

In light of this, the AICTE urged all stakeholders and students to exercise caution and avoid falling prey to fraudulent offers of expedited MBA programs.

The warning serves as a reminder to prioritize AICTE-approved institutions for pursuing credible and recognized educational courses in the field of management.
