The Commerce Department of the US has informed that it has halted the ban on the TikTok app.

The decision came after an injunction order from the Philadelphia court, where three well-known TikTokers argued against the imposition of the ban.

The federal judge wrote that the Commerce Department had overstepped its jurisdiction “when it tried to ban transactions on the platform.”

The Chinese company had filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for banning the app.

In its official statement, the company had mentioned, “Now is the time for us to act. We do not take suing the government lightly, however, we feel like we have no choice but to take action to protect our rights and the rights of our community and employees.”

Earlier, Oracle and Walmart had joined hands to prevent the ban by introducing a new company called ‘TikTok Global, which will be based in the US.
