India- New Zealand to boost Defense and Security Relations

Reviewing ongoing bilateral corporation, India and New Zealand had a third Foreign Office Consultations to enhance the depth and momentum of engagement in areas of defense, security, cyber-security, climate change and counter-terrorism.

The meeting was held virtually where the two countries discussed issues relating to Covid-19 vaccines and medicines needed to deal the pandemic globally.

The countries also exchanged views on regional issues and emphasized on closer cooperation for a rules based international order with free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.

While the Indian delegation at the third Foreign Office Consultations was led by Riva Ganguly Das, Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, the New Zealand side was headed by Mark Sinclair, Deputy Secretary, Americas and Asia Group, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The meeting was held in a friendly and cordial manner thereby agreeing to hold next consultations at a mutually convenient date.
