Downie appointed as the new presiding disciplinary judge by Arizona SC

Arizona SC names Margaret Downie as the new presiding disciplinary judge. A disciplinary judge presides over attorney discipline, reinstatement, and disability cases. Downie will be the second presiding disciplinary judge since the establishment of the High Court.

Downie has been the executive director of the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct for the last four years.
ACJC is an independent state agency that investigates complaints against justices and judges of the Supreme Courts, Court of Appeals, Superior Court, Municipal Courts, and Justice of the Peace Courts.

Downie also served the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One for nine years prior to her service at the ACJC. Before being appointed as a judge, she also served a decade with Maricopa County Superior Court which includes two years of her service as a court commissioner.
