A petition seeking action against politicians was filed in Delhi High Court to which Delhi police was ordered to conduct an inquiry into alleged illegal distribution of COVID-19 drugs.

Following it, the Delhi HC questioned Youth Congress president Srinivas BV about the source of Covid-19 relief material his organization was using to help people.

While the opposition raised an outrage over the questioning and journalists questioned the reasons of questioning someone for distributing Covid aid, BJP leader Harish Khuranna informed that he was also questioned regarding the same.

The Delhi Police has already questioned various politicians of AAP, Congress and BJP in the case and is expected to question more leaders of various parties.

To be precise, BJP leader Gautam Gambhir is likely to be summoned soon for being forefront of helping people during the second wave.

The petition was filed by Dr Deepak Singh, in the Delhi HC seeking a CBI probe into an alleged “medical mafia politician nexus” and had asked for the detention of such persons for allegedly indulging in black-marketing of Covid-19 medicines as per the National Security Act, 1980, and to disqualify the MLAs and MPs.

While the court on 4 May turned down the plea of filing FIR and CBI probe, it ordered Delhi Police to examine the issue and to file FIR if any irregularities were found.

The matter is listed for further hearing on 17th May.
