In light of the voice of Amitabh Bachchan being replaced by a woman in 2021 from the ringtones alerting citizens of COVID-19, the plea that asked the Delhi HC to remove the senior actor’s voice was held infructuous by the court and disposed of.

A two-judge bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh stated that the plea had become infructuous as the voice of the actor had already been replaced.

A Delhi resident and social worker Rakesh had this year on January the 7th pushed a plea to the Supreme Court after getting lackluster response from the executive from November last year.

This is regarding his request to remove Bollywood senior actor Amitabh Bachchan from the COVID-19 warning ringtone.

The plea was made on the grounds that Bachchan and some of his family members had been infected with the virus and hence had no place to tell the rest of the citizens to be safe.

Additionally, the plea went on to say that the government of India was paying the actor money for work that should have been a public service on the part of the actor.

He speaks of essential and social workers actually helping the poor and needy and implied that the government should employ them instead.

The plea was due for hearing on January 18th when it was heard and disposed of.

The new message for Corona on the ringtone now has a woman’s voice and states

“Naya saal Covid-19 ki vaccine ke roop main nayi aasha ki kiran lekar aaya hai.”

(The new year has vaccines that will act as a ray of hope against the virus)
