UP Panchayat Polls: Clash between two groups, four injured as ballot boxes looted in Agra

During the first phase of the panchayat polls, miscreants looted ballot boxes from a polling booth in Fatehabad, Agra.

District Magistrate of Agra Prabhu N Singh said, “Incident occurred after supporters of two candidates clashed. Miscreants are being identified. Investigation into the matter is underway”.

He also stated that he would be requesting a re-polling in the area.

SP (East) Ashok Venkat stated that the incident of clash was reported in Rihawali village of Agra Rural constituency.

The clash broke out between the supporters of candidates fighting for Gram Pradhan.

The clash resulted in injury of four people followed by snatching of two ballot boxes.

SSP Muniraj informed that 8 people have been arrested and the investigation is still ongoing.
