The J&K High Court issued a notification to the Centre and the state administration on Wednesday in response to a plea lodged by the father of Amir Magray, one of four people killed in an encounter in the Hyderpora area, trying to seek his body for last rites.

According to a police SIT investigating the incident, one civilian was killed by a foreign terrorist while two others, including a local “militant”, died in crossfire after being used as human shields.

Respondents were given 10 days by the Court. A petition was lodged by Magray’s father, Mohammad Latief on December 30 after his request for the body’s return was denied.
