BACKGROUND –
Vandana had many life-altering journeys. She was clear with her goal of what she wants to become and indeed she achieved it. She is indeed a strong woman as he pioneered in an area that was not established at all. She faced tremendous challenges educating people about the idea of adopting wellness regimes and initiatives in their lives. She is a hardcore philanthropist.
She is the Vice-Chairperson of the NGO named ‘Khushii’ which has build telemedicine centers, a remedial school with a midday meal facility catering to 3,000 children, and a vocational training facility as well. She also published 2 books to spread awareness about fitness of both body and mind.
Vandana had grown up under her mother’s guidance which is helping people around feel better. Her mother was an Ayurvedic doctor running a charitable trust – ‘Amar Jyoti’. She wanted to help people just like her mother but she did it on a different level. She thought about presenting her clients with a holistic approach by linking beauty to wellness.
Her idea was to combine importance on nutrition, physical health, and grooming together. She moved to Europe after her graduation for making her dream to be successful. She visited Germany, UK, France and honed herself in the realm of beauty, nutrition as well as skin-care and fitness. She started VLCC in 1989 after she returns to India from her long journey.
Now, VLCC has the largest scale and breadth of operations within the beauty and wellness services industry in India. Currently, the store operates in 326 locations in 153 cities and in 13 other countries.

CONTROVERSIES/CASES-
Vandana Luthra v. M.C.D
This case was heard in Delhi High Court. VLCC Beauty Care was alleged to be found misusing the property. Vandana was summoned by the Metropolitan Magistrate, New Delhi to face a charge of a criminal complaint lodged by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. She filed a petition to challenge this summon. The Court dismissed the petition and ordered the petitioner to face trial for the respective complaint.
