BACKGROUND- Ujjal Biswas is the Correctional Administration Minister of West Bengal. In 2021, he won assembly elections and was elected as MLA for the third time from the Krishnanagar Dakshin Constituency.
Born in West Bengal, Ujjal Biswas was elected as MLA in the year 2011 from Krishnanagar Constituency of Nadia district of West Bengal. He is one of the leaders of India who does not have a single criminal case against him. In the year 2016, he again contested assembly elections from the same constituency and won. Later, in 2021, he was once again elected as Member of Legislative Assembly of West Bengal.
He contested assembly election from his earlier constituency only which was Krishnanagar Dakshin. In the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections, he won by defeating Mahadev Sarkar of Bharatiya Janata Party. He is cabinet Minister in Mamata Banerjee’s government. Currently, he is serving as the Minister Correctional Administration.
