BACKGROUND –
Prabhuram Choudhary was born on 15/07/1958 into a scheduled caste farmer’s family in the Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh. His father, Balmukund Choudhary, however being uneducated, learned the value of education during his struggle to legally acquire a single piece of farming land in his village. He insisted and motivated Prabhuram to get educated to ensure success in life.
Following his family values of ‘Simplicity and Hard Work’, he pursued his MBBS from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. He has a keen interest in sports. During his final year, he became the “Games and Sports” Secretary of Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, and captain of the Volleyball team.
Since Prabhuram was excellent in academics and sports (Games and Sports” Secretary of Gandhi Medical College), he developed exceptional leadership and orating skills. Indian National Congress recognized his talent and gave him a Vidhan Sabha ticket from Sanchi District in 1985.
He won the election and became one of the youngest MLA in Madhya Pradesh. In 1987, he was given the Parliamentary Secretary post under the then Chief Minister ( Shri Moti Lal Vora). Later he was elected as an MLA in 2008 and 2018 as well.
MAJOR INITIATIVES-
During his time as Education Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Prabhuram launched the STEAM Education program. STEAM Education Program is a form of learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
