REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT– Nitin Jairam Gadkari organised ‘Khasdar Sounkritik Mahotsav’ in the last three years. He has been working on the socio-economic front and taking various initiatives to empower downtrodden people from the tribal, remote and drought prone Vidarbha region.

His visionary ideas help in water conservation and in the conversion of agricultural waste into clean, efficient fuel; whereby the biomass is converted into small pellets which can be burnt in a specially designed stove and can be used as clean & efficient fuel.

Nitin Jairam Gadkari is an Indian Politician and businessman from Maharashtra, who is the current Minister for Road Transport & Highways and the Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises in the Government of India. He earlier served as the President of the Bhartiya Janata Party from 2009 to 2013.

BACKGROUND– Nitin Jairam Gadkari is also known for his work as the Public Works Department Minister of the State of Maharashtra, where under his leadership, a series of roads, highways and flyovers across the state were constructed. He currently represents the Nagpur constituency in the Lok Sabha, and is a lawyer and industrialist by occupation.

UPBRINGING & EDUCATION – Nitin Jairam Gadkari was born into a Marathi family in Nagpur, to Jairam & Bhanutai Gadkari. During his adolescence, he worked for the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha and the student union Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He completed his M.Com and LLB from Nagpur University.

WALK OF LIFE- Nitin Jairam Gadkari is a senior member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He is also known as the flyover man because of his work in constructing roads, expressways and flyovers. He was born into a Brahmin family in Nagpur. He joined the student political outfit Akhil Bhartiya Vidya Parishad (ABVP) in 1976. He also organized the 28th National Convention of the ABVP. He was selected the President of the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha when he was just 24 years old.

MAJOR INITIATIVES TAKEN- Nitin Jairam Gadkari started mentoring various projects in water conservation to improve the livelihood of farmers in the water starved Vidarbha region. He also played a leading role in the formation of the Late Laxmanrao Mankad Memorial Trust and took the work of starting Ekal Vidyalayas in many different tribal areas.
