Manish Tewari is a lawyer by profession, he practiced out of Supreme Court and elected MP of Ludhiana constituency. He also served as Union Minister of State (independent charge), information and broadcasting from 2009-2014.
From student life, he was actively involved in politics. He started his political career with NSUI and later became a member of Congress Party’s National committee. He was Union Minister for information and Broadcasting in UPA government.
He is a member of the Indian National Congress and represents Anandpur Sahib in the 17th Lok Sabha. He was the Minister of Information and Broadcasting from 2012 to 2014 and a Member of Parliament from Ludhiana from 2008 to 2014.
Manish Tewari was born on 8 December 1965 Ludhiana, Punjab , his father is V.N. Tewari author of Punjabi language and mother is Dr. Amrit Kaur Tewari a dentist . He attained a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Punjab University and Bachelor’s of Laws from the University of Delhi .
CASES:
Nitin Gadkari had dragged Tewari to the court for defamation when Tewari allegedly accused Gadkari of holding a benami flat in the scam tainted Adarsh Society.
Manish Tewari lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, seeking action against indulging in false and malicious propaganda against him and his family on social media over anti Sikh riots charges.
