BACKGROUND –
Javed Ahmed Khan was born in Kolkata to Late Karim Baksh Khan on 31st August, 1956. He is a B.Com graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata in 1978 and is a social worker and has a business apart from career as a politician. His wife’s name is Rafat Javed who is also a social worker and businesswoman.
He is a member of the political party All India Trinamool Congress. He served as a councillor of ward no. 66 from 1995 to 2010 and became head of opposition in 2005 and currently is Minister for Disaster Management of West Bengal.
