“The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged sexual harassment cases involving Hassan JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna has established a helpline number for victims to report incidents. SIT chief and Additional Director General of Police B K Singh stated that victims can contact them at 6360938947. He assured that victims need not visit the SIT office, as the team will approach them to provide assistance.
The SIT has also warned against sharing videos depicting the alleged assaults on social media or messenger apps. Singh emphasized that sharing such videos could lead to legal action, as it is easy to trace individuals who share them. He also highlighted the damage such actions could cause to the reputation and dignity of the victims.
Prajwal Revanna, who is contesting for re-election from Hassan as a JD(S)-BJP alliance candidate, reportedly left the country on April 27, a day after polling. A blue corner notice has been issued against him. Meanwhile, rape and molestation charges have been filed against Prajwal, and his father, MLA H D Revanna, has been arrested and remanded to police custody for allegedly kidnapping a woman who was reportedly sexually assaulted by the MP.”
