Sandalwood drug racket: Karnataka HC again rejected bail Plea of Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa

The Karnataka High Court again rejected bail Plea of Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani. High Court bench of Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar dismissed bail Plea filed by Ragini, Sanjjanaa and other co-accused in the Sandalwood drug racket.

Appearing for Galrani Senior Advocate Hasmath Pasha submitted to the court that the prosecution had not yet determined/found out the quantity of drugs that had been allegedly consumed by any of the accused persons and more specifically.

Previously when Ragini and Sanjjanaa were taken into the custody they have been applying for bail for nearly two months. However, their bail applications have been rejected on multiple times by High Court.

Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani have been arrested for allegedly procuring and consuming drugs at parties. They have been charged under various sections in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.

Ragini and Sanjjanaa celebrated Dussehra in Parappana Agrahara prison with other inmates. Recently, Sanjjnaa celebrated her birthday in jail as well.

Narcotics Control Bureau arrested several drug peddlers in Bengaluru. Upon investigation, they came to know that the peddlers are connected actors, musicians and other high-profile businessmen. So far, nearly 15 people have been arrested in the case.

Diganth, his wife Aindrita Roy and anchor Anushree were summoned by the officials for questioning. However, they weren’t arrested in the case.
