In Faridabad, Haryana, the police have submitted a charge sheet within six days in a case of alleged attempted rape, according to an official.
The accused, Anil, who is originally from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, and worked as a labourer in Sector 15, was arrested on May 1 after allegedly forcing his way into a house and attempting to rape a 22-year-old woman who was home alone.
The victim’s brother heard her cries for help, arrived at the scene, and caught Anil before calling the police. An FIR was filed, and Anil was taken into custody.
On Saturday, the police submitted the charge sheet to the court. The police spokesperson, Sube Singh, said that the swift action taken by the police aimed to ensure women’s safety and ensure that the accused is punished promptly.
