In a milestone achievement for India’s Infrastructural Development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 13 launched the ‘PM GatiShakti- National Master Plan’ to facilitate multi-modal connectivity to economic zones of the country.

The Project was launched from Pragati Maidan in the national capital.

The Plan is an important step in the Prime Minister’s ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’ with an ambitious scale envisaging 16 ministries and departments. It aims to provide strength and speed to several projects under the 1.5 trillion dollar National Infrastructure Pipeline. It seeks to achieve the goal of a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2025. It especially becomes significant in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which set back the economy of the country.

PM GatiShakti seeks infra projects to be designed and executed with a common vision, and incorporates the infrastructure schemes of various ministries and State Governments.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal was also present at the event.  The Prime Minister’s Office further elaborated on the six pillars of the GatiShakti project namely comprehensiveness, prioritization, optimization, synchronization, analysis and dynamism.
