Madhya Pradesh HC: Chief Secretary should from committee to look into encroachments of public land

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the Chief Secretary of the state to form a committee named ‘Public Land Protection Cell’ (PLPC) to see on the complaints for the encroachment on public property in rural areas of their respective districts. The committee would be headed by the district collectors of the respective districts.

The Court already known to the fact that it’s already inundated over the matters related to the encroachments of public land in the rural areas hence said that permanent mechanism to this issue should be done by setting up an independent committee for dealing with these cases.

The ‘Public Land Protection Cell’ will be obliged to take actions keeping up with the directives given by the Supreme Court in the case of Jagtap Singh and others vs State of Punjab.

The division bench of Chief justice Mohd Rafiq and Justice Sujoy Paul had passed this order for creation of such a committee.
