Jharkhand HC Dismissed State Govt. Plea to Adjourn Hearing Against CM Soren

The Jharkhand government had filed Interlocutory Application (IA) in the Jharkhand High Court requesting to adjourn the hearing which is on Friday on the two PIL’s.

The IA was filed as the Kapil Sibal who was going to argue in the matter from the side of CM Hemant Soren is got COVID 19 positive.

The two PIL’s are filed seeking investigation against the CM Hemant Soren it was alleged in PIL that there is irregularities in lease provided by him for mining.

The Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan seeks adjournment but the Court denied it stating that both the PILs will be heard on merits on June 17 and then Court will decide whether to adjourn the matter or not.

The Advocate General further contended that SLP had already filed before the Vacation Bench of Supreme Court against the order of High Court. The Supreme Court will decide maintainability of the order but this process will take time and till that proceedings should be suspended by the High Court.

On June 3, the High Court decided that PILs will be heard. The Court is going to decide on the basis of merits that whether the probe should be conducted by CBI or not.

The PILs have also alleged that transaction by the CM Hemant Soren is made to some shell companies which belongs to his family members only.
