The Delhi High Court has stayed the Central Information Commission (CIC) order which directed the Indian Air Force (IAF) to provide information regarding details of the Prime Minister’s foreign trips.

Justice Navin Chawla of the Delhi High Court said that the information sought by the applicant under the Right to Information Act about details of the trip cannot be revealed.

However, details of the number of passengers on flights can be disclosed.

The High court also issued notice to the applicant Lokesh K Batra, retired officer, and asked his views on the Indian Air Force’s appeal against the CIC’s regulation of July 8.

The court has listed the case for further hearing in April and has ordered a stay on the operation of the CIC guideline till then.

The bench said that the CIC should’ve been more explicit on the information allowed and exempted under the RTI Act.
