Attorney General KK Venugopal isolated himself after colleague found tests positive for COVID-19

Today office of Supreme Court  informed that Attorney General for India KK Venugopal is under self isolation as his colleague found to be positive for COVID-19.

The Additional Solicitor General SV Raju today informed Bench of Justices L Nageswara Rao and Hemant Gupta about KK Venugopal has quarantined himself and as he sought adjournment in a case concerning appointments to different tribunals.

From last few days a colleague was showing symptom and later on directed by office to get tested for COVID-19 yesterday repost confirmed about the infection and all office staffs has been directed to take all precautionary measures. SG Tushar Mehta also not attended any proceeding today.

India, now become the second-worst hit country in the world, recorded the highest number of cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) globally at 90,802 in the last 24 hours, according to the Union health ministry on Monday.

The country’s infection tally now reached at 4,204,613. India has overtaken Brazil to become the country with the second-highest number of Covid-19 cases. Brazil now has 4,137,606 Covid-19 cases and the United States has the maximum number of cases at 6,460,250.
