Karuna Sharma, who claims to be Maharashtra Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde’s second wife, has been charged for shouting a casteist epithet at a woman and threatening to divorce her husband by Pune City police.

The FIR  was registered at the Yerawada police station based on the complaint filed by woman from Pune against her husband and Sharma, who is a resident of Santacruz in Mumbai.

According to a senior police official from Pune City Police, the complainant’s spouse was pressuring her to divorce him since he was dating Sharma.

Sharma is also accused of making a casteist remark against the complainant. Sharma has been charged under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

In the same offence, the woman’s husband has been booked under Section 498A for domestic violence, Section 323 for physical assault, and Section 377 for unnatural offences of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
