Britain’s Top Court denied the Legal challenge opposing the government policy that approves only for male-female spilt for passports.

The Five Judge Coram rejected the efforts made by a British activist on the basis that this would make the gender markers undermine the ‘Legal system’ clearly built on male – female spilt.

Christie Elan-Cane, the British activist who prefers not to identify himself either by male or female and calls the Britain passport application process ‘inherently discriminatory’.

The British activist argued that individuals are given only the option of male or female on the application and no option of ‘X’ for the “unspecified”, an alternative option introduced in many countries.

However, the Supreme Court in one voice rejected the Plea on the grounds that the person’s identity can be confirmed using the form and verifying it with other official documents. These documents consist the information related to birth, adoption or gender recognition certificates.

“It is therefore gender recognised for Legal purposes and recorded in those documents which is relevant”, the Court inferred.

The Plea was filed on the context that the Britain government had breached the Legal Rights of private life and no gender or sex disparity.
