The Uttar Pradesh Government booked the two under UAPA and accused them of havin intentions to create law and order troubles.

AtiqUr Rehman who suffers from Severe Aortic Regurgitation and several other cardiac related ailments was to be taken for treatment last month after an ordered was passed a Lucknow court on 10th October, 2021, but the Uttar Pradesh Police did not follow the order.

Hence, the Allahabad High Court warned and ordered the Uttar Pradesh Government to take the accused to AIIMS for treatment.

Senior Advocate Syed Farman Ahmad Naqvi represented Rehman in the Allahabad High Court.

The Lawyer representing stated, “The Allahabad High Court bench said that they won’t hear the matter on merits, we said we were only talking about the medical plea. The moment they saw the Lucknow court order they got very angry at the state counsel. They gave him an ultimatum of 48 hours to do something concrete and if nothing happened the judges said he would summon senior officials.”
