Telangana HC Judge expresses discontent over Police reluctance to appear in Court Process

Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court while inaugurating courses at the NALSAR University of Law on Saturday expressed his discontent over the delay in disposing of cases and the predicaments of Police Officers to appear in Court procedures.

The concern came into light when the Judge noted various stages of Criminal Justice Procedures beginning from Arrest including the recent Amendment to Section 41 A, to Chargesheet.

Further Judge discussed other barriers in admitting the Evidence in a Criminal Trial.

Furthermore, the Judge highlighted the Matters involved in Section 41 A of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and urged the need to thoroughly reform the Criminal Justice Procedure.

Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy directed that Special Courts may be established for Minority Communities, Women and Children to swiftly dispose the Cases.

Justice Reddy also highlighted the significance of Forensic Science stating that in Cases of presumptive Evidence, Forensic Science helps the Judiciary in conviction.

The Inaugural was addressed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Faizan Mustafa, Registrar Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Dr. K.P.C.Gandhi, Founder, Truth Labs and faculty members and students.
