Supreme Court warns Andhra Pradesh on class 12 board exams

In a tough warning to the Andhra Pradesh Government over its decision to hold Class 12 board exams, the Supreme Court told the Andhra Pradesh Counsel, “You can’t keep everything uncertain. Remember, if there is even one fatality, we will make the state responsible.”

Advocate Mahfooz Nazki appearing for Andhra Pradesh Government said the Government is planning to hold the exams in July and around 5 lakh students would be appearing for the same. Further, all safety protocols would be followed not accommodating more than 15 students in the examination hall.

The Counsel was asked to convey the Government’s decision in the matter within two days.

The Bench of Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari were hearing a bunch of pleas on the issue of Class 12 board exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and State Education Boards.

The Court also said it will pass an order on the plea challenging the Kerala Government to decide to hold class 11 exams. The matter to be further heard on June 24.
