The Supreme Court has informed that the Apex Court will be hearing all the petitions challenging the cancellation of physical exams by CBSE and ICSE for Class XII tomorrow.

A vacation bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari has decided to hear all the petitions observing that the students need to have some ray of hope and not uncertainty.

Senior Advocate Vikas Singh, who is seeking to hold the physical examination, suggested that there must be an option to improvise for the students and that has to be given before declaring results.

Further, Vikas Singh suggested that uniform criteria must be used by CBSE and ICSE thereby marking to be given only on the performance of the current batch.

Singh suggested that since the cases are going down, more focus must be given on the physical examination to make sure that no manipulation is done by schools in terms of marking the students as it is difficult to acknowledge the alternative method of evaluation.

The bench observed that the suggestions of Singh were important and the points raised can be put to the CBSE and ICSE for their response.

The matter is now listed for hearing on 21 June thereby asking the Boards to finalize the scheme and consider the suggestions of Senior Advocate Vikas Singh.
