The Supreme Court of India expressed disappointment in Officers from the Uttar Pradesh Government because of their reckless attitude and termed them as Arrogant.

The Court remarked for the Officers against whom Bailable Warrants were issued by the High Court, for not respecting the Court orders.

A Bench comprising the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kant, and Justice Hima Kohli made such remarks while dealing with a Petition.

The filed Petition challenged a recent order of High Court wherein the Court issued Bailable Warrants against State officers including the Finance Secretary and the Additional Chief Secretary (revenue) in a matter relating to regularization of a collection amin.

In the said case, the High Court issued a Bailable Warrant against Officers after observing that Officials were treating the Court as a playground and had also denied granting salary to a person who was earlier denied the rightful claim of regularization of service.

However, when the UP Government approached the Apex Court, the CJI stated that they deserved what they are getting.

“You deserve all this, more than that”, stated the CJI.

“Such reckless attitude, no respect to Court”, added the CJI.

“What are you doing here Ms. Bhati! Look at your conduct, you are depriving him even of his arrears. Even with gun on your head, you’ve not abided by the Court,” said Justice Hima Kohli to Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, who was appearing for the State of Uttar Pradesh.

However, Ms. Bhati replied that the service has been regularized and the only issue which is remained is that of payment of arrears of the salary.

The said case is all about the denial of seniority benefit by the UP Government to Bhuneshwar Prasad Tiwari.

However, despite several orders issued by the High Court to serve Justice in the form of Regularization of service and past arrears of salary, the State Government neither responded in a correct manner nor followed the repeated order of Court.
