Many Advocates-on-Record (AOR) practising before the Supreme Court of India received an automated call from an unknown number this morning warning that the “Kashmir flag will be raised in Delhi on Republic Day”.

It is suspected that the call is from Mujahideen, in which he mentioned that the Supreme Court is equally responsible with the Modi government for the abolition of Article 370 of the Constitution.

This isn’t the first time AORs have received such calls.

Earlier this month, AORs got calls from unidentified numbers in United Kingdom and Canada claiming responsibility for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach at the flyover in Punjab.

The call which was suspected to be from Sikhs for Justice included a warning to Supreme Court Justices to not hear the Public Interest Litigation lodged by an NGO Lawyers Voice wanting an Investigation into the security breach.

As AORs are Lawyers eligible to lodge Cases in the Supreme Court, their phone numbers are publicly available, which can be one of the reason of why they are receiving these calls.
