In an allegation made against sitting Supreme Court judge, Justice NV Ramana, an in-house procedure was undertaken to look into the veracity of these allegations. After due consideration, the complaint has now been dismissed by the Chief Justice of India, SA Bodbe.

A statement released by the Supreme Court of India stated,

A complaint dated 6th October, 2020 sent by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to the Supreme Court was dealt with under the In-House Procedure and the same, on due consideration, stands dismissed.”

Further information in this matter has not been released, the in-house procedure being strictly confidential in nature, and the court having no liability to make it public.

The complaint, which was made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, links Justice NV Ramana to the Amravati land scam.

In pursuance of the same, the CM first wrote to the CJI addressing these concerns, following which an affidavit was submitted before the Apex Court, raising the allegations.

While rejecting the letter complaint, the Chief Justice also recommended the name of Justice Ramana as his successor after the expiry of his term as Chief Justice.
