Special CBI Court in Rajasthan Sentences three Accused with Rigorous Imprisonment

A Special Court of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Rajasthan Sentenced three people with Rigorous Imprisonment. Two of the three people were involved in misappropriating of funds worth INR 1.9 crore.

The two people were employees of the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL). One of the two Accused people named, Rakesh Sharma, was the Branch Manager of National Insurance Company Limited, Sikar; he was Sentenced to 3 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and fined with INR 1.5 lakh. The other person named Bhagwati CharanVerma, was a Senior Assistant at NICL, Sikar, she was also sentenced to 3 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and fined with INR 2.5 Lakh.

The Central Bureau of Investigation had registered a Case against the two, after a Complaint was filed by the National Insurance Company Limited. It was Alleged by the Insurance Agency that two had fraudulently misappropriated different amounts of insurance premiums collected from customers.

In another case, in 2017, a Complaint was filed against Manoj Kumar Tarani and it had contended that he had demanded a bribe of INR 14,000 in order to make corrections to personal details in PF accounts of the Complainant and six other Employees working at ‘Vijay Store’.

In this regard, the Special Central Bureau of Investigation Court had Sentenced a person named Manoj Kumar Tarani, who was then the Social Security Assistant of Employees Provident Fund Organization. He was convicted in Bribery Case and was Sentenced to 4 years of Rigorous Imprisonment.
